CONCLUSIONS: WHAT TO MAKE OF THE CHEMTRAIL PHENOMENA

Chemtrails are similar, in many respects, to 9/11 conspiracies. Advocates seem more vested in who the antagonists are and why they are acting rather than how they accomplish their evil schemes. The chemtrail conspiracy is big, no doubt. The “global power structure,” to use Dane Wigington phrase, is the primary culprit and scapegoat.64 They are responsible for geoengineering programs over the last twenty years, although that timeline and the reasons for the conspiracy are a constantly moving target.

When they press forward to explain just how all this is happening, chem-trail believers fall down hard. In too many cases with respect to basic math, physics, climatology, soil biology, or meteorology, among many complex scientific fields, the facts do not match their claims. Chemtrail advocates do no favors to the study of history either. They constantly rewrite the timeline as they wrestle with the fact that evidence of contrails goes back decades before the scientific community ever considered geoengineering. A number of web-sites—Metabunk.com and Contrailscience.com—have emerged to provide a constant, factual commentary on chemtrail claims.

Yet even the absence of evidence seems to make no difference. The strange debate about “non-visible” chemtrails and weather patterns is built upon something that can’t be seen. This particular rabbit hole is a good illustration of how logic fails the chemtrail community along with their grasp of facts. One writer on the Metabunk website put it this way:

This long-term observation should be a clue to them that weather causes what they fear, not the other way around.

Instead of incorporating the observation to modify their hypothesis, they conform the observation to fit the hypothesis.65
